2. Data We Collect
Waveous collects the following data from users:
Data from Spotify API
- Spotify Streaming History – Tracks, albums, and artists you have listened to.
- Spotify Likes – Your liked songs, albums, and playlists.
- Spotify User Information – Your username, profile picture, and account details for core app functionality.
- Spotify Email - This is required for core functionality and may also be used for important service announcements,
account-related notifications and security updates
User-Generated Data in Waveous
- Comments and Likes – Content you post within the Waveous app.
Usage Data & Analytics
Waveous uses third-party analytics providers (Google Analytics, Sentry) to collect anonymous data for:
- Crash Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Feature Improvement & User Statistics
Waveous does not use cookies but may track in-app behavior for feature optimization.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide Waveous features (e.g., music stats, social interactions, and new music updates).
- To improve app performance and fix technical issues.
- To personalize user experiences based on listening habits.
- To monitor and prevent abuse of the platform.
- To send important service-related announcements – We may use your email to notify you about critical updates,
security alerts, changes to our services, or legal updates. These emails are not promotional and cannot be opted out
of, as they are essential for using Waveous.
4. How We Store & Protect Your Data
- All user data is stored in Germany through a secure cloud provider.
- Only authorized personnel have access to stored data.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Data is retained indefinitely, unless a user requests deletion.
- If a user requests account deletion, all associated data is deleted immediately.

6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
- Waveous does not sell or share user data with third parties.
- However, we use third-party analytics providers (Google Analytics, Sentry) for anonymous usage statistics and
performance monitoring.
7. User Rights & Control
- Users cannot currently export their data but may contact support for data inquiries.
- Users may control some aspects of Spotify data collection, but this does not cover all data collected by Waveous.
- Users can request account deletion and data removal at [email protected].
8. Children’s Privacy
- Waveous follows Spotify’s minimum age requirement (13 years old).
- No additional age verification is performed, as login requires a valid Spotify account.
- Waveous does not knowingly collect data from children under 13, making COPPA non-applicable.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
- If we make major changes, users will be notified via email.
- Continued use of Waveous after updates means you accept the revised policy.
